Eligibility Criteria
- Be a citizen of a developing or emerging country in Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Middle East.
- Possess a university degree and relevant professional experience in your home country.
- Aim to pursue a Master’s degree, PhD, or other postgraduate studies, or a research stay (2-6 months) at a German university.
- Be of Catholic denomination or a Christian denomination (especially for applicants from the Near and Middle East). Applicants of other faiths may be considered in exceptional cases if nominated by Catholic partners and demonstrate a willingness to engage in interfaith dialogue.
- Possess basic German language skills; KAAD offers a preparatory language course if needed.

KAAD collaborates with focus and partner countries in various regions. Applications are typically processed through these partner committees. Applications from other countries are considered only in exceptional circumstances.
