Job Summary:
This role offers a competitive salary range of ₦750,000 – ₦1,000,000 per month. You’ll play a vital role in reviewing and evaluating engineering work, ensuring adherence to company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Effective communication, collaboration, and technical expertise are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess engineering work performed by internal teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Facilitate and coordinate technical work products within the materials engineering discipline.
- Foster clear and timely communication among team members and other departments regarding engineering activities, progress updates, and any arising issues.
- Analyze and comment on discipline design drawings and documents to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Identify and address deviations from technical specifications and regulations, ensuring adherence to company procedures for handling such deviations.
- Respond to technical inquiries from contractors and subcontractors regarding materials engineering.
- Keep senior engineers and management informed about progress, deviations, and concerns within the materials engineering discipline.
- Participate in engineering reviews at contractor and subcontractor locations.
- Champion initiatives promoting cost-effectiveness in engineering design.
- Support broader engineering projects and initiatives as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in materials engineering or a closely related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials Engineering or a similar discipline) or equivalent professional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of materials engineering design standards, specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong ability to adapt to demanding deadlines, manage heavy workloads, and adjust to shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
- Excellent written, verbal, and reading comprehension skills in English, particularly in a technical and business context.
